Synopsis:

Henry James Hermin (Jason Spevack) is conceived through artificial insemination. He is a gifted child and is raised by his feminist mother. As he grows older, he tries to find his biological father.

Reaction:

With the modern science and technology, there is no wonder that more and more people resort to the idea of artificial insemination. Well, this movie does not really centers on this topic but it is part of the story for a 10 year old boy to find out his real father. Anyway, I can say that the film is quite good though I can see several scenes that may not be necessary. Take for example, the family story of Patricia Herman (Toni Collette). It took more time just to show what happened to her family. There were some stories about the deaths of her family members which were shown in a light and funny way.

This film got its funny moments though sometimes there were some boring scenes. As for me, I admit I got bored from some scenes but later on, I got to enjoy this light comedy family film. The actors were good especially Toni Collette and Jason Spevack.

This film may not be appealing to some viewers as they might find it slow and boring. I would give this film a rating of 5 out of 10. One would enjoy watching this during a lazy weekend. You can watch together with your family.
